TOTO / (Moscow) – artist, Art-Office Gallery FEDINI resident
TOTO graduated from Moscow state technical University (MSTU) with a degree in Graphic design under the supervision of teachers of the Stroganov Moscow state University.
TOTO’s passion for fine art has been with him since early childhood. The realization of artistic potential was in parallel with the realization in the musical sphere. In his youth, TOTO was the leader of one of the Moscow rock bands and a composer of his own music.
TOTO’s professional activities include projects of popular publishing houses, such as Burda Publishing house, Action Media group and others. Currently, the artist TOTO continues to work as an art Director.
TOTO’s works show an individual approach to painting.
The works are made in the style of an art collage in combination with a classic portrait with recognizable, as the artist says: “pseudo-important details from the life of the entire society and the individual.” The applied technique has a different degree of exaggeration of the context depending on the style of the picture, sometimes purposefully destroying the cliches associated with the characters of the pictures.
In the image of recognizable characters, the viewer finds humor, sarcasm, philosophy and subtext. The artist expresses his attitude to social, political, technological things and processes, the development of culture and art.
